About the Society for Human Performance in Extreme Environments

The Society for Human Performance in Extreme Environments (HPEE) was created to inspire and facilitate collaboration between researchers, practitioners, and other professionals to improve human safety and performance in extremely risky and challenging settings.
Founded in 1997 by M. Ephimia Morphew, HPEE has steadily grown in size and capacity. Today, our members represent some of the top researchers in the life, behavioral, and engineering sciences, and personnel with first-hand experience in multiple domains ranging from spaceflight to underwater diving. We also have a strong group of student members from universities around the world.
In addition to publishing the Journal of Human Performance in Extreme Environments, with original, peer-reviewed articles, HPEE holds annual meetings which bring together people with a shared interest in maximizing human performance in extreme environments.
HPEE is a 501C tax-exempt nonprofit professional society. |
